Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough preoperative assessments to evaluate patient conditions and determine suitable anesthetic methods in collaboration with supervising anesthesiologists.
- Ensure readiness of anesthesia equipment, which includes verifying the functionality of machines, preparing necessary small tools, and organizing medications for safe anesthesia delivery.
- Administer anesthesia while vigilantly monitoring patients' vital signs and overall response, with meticulous documentation of their status during and after the procedure.
- Conduct postoperative evaluations, accompanying patients to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and following up within 24-48 hours to ensure a smooth recovery.
- Provide anesthesia services under the direct oversight of a qualified faculty anesthesiologist.
- Report any equipment malfunctions promptly to maintain safety standards.
- Guide and mentor RNSA students during their clinical training and anesthesia administration.
- Participate in on-call duties alongside faculty anesthesiologists.
- A Master's degree is required; a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is preferred.
- Possession of a valid Nursing license in Ohio.
- Certification to practice as a CRNA in Ohio, issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Current certification or recertification as a nurse anesthetist from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Fulfillment of educational criteria as outlined by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
