About the Role

UT Southwestern is seeking a highly skilled Imaging Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using various modalities, including MRI, CT, US, Mammography, and more.
  • Review physician orders for accuracy and ensure that imaging protocols are followed.
  • Screen patients for contrast allergies and contraindications, and modify imaging exams as necessary.
  • Discuss findings with radiologists and ordering physicians, and document changes in the electronic health record.
  • Ensure that images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and labeling.
  • Administer oral and/or intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate, and observe patients for adverse reactions.
  • Perform daily and monthly quality control testing, and place service calls for imaging equipment as needed.
  • Participate in accreditation imaging requirements, and perform post-processing on imaging equipment and remote workstations.
  • Respond to inquiries and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in one or more modalities.
  • Licensure by the Texas Medical Board (excluding MRI).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved school.
  • Two years of experience in diagnostic imaging preferred.
