Job Summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Site Reliability Engineering team in building high-performance, low-latency platforms and applications. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for building and managing a team of engineers to deliver enterprise-wide products that operate in a highly performant and efficient way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable systems
  • Develop and implement technical roadmaps to improve application performance, capacity benchmarking, and availability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cultural change in technical excellence, quality, and efficiency
  • Manage and grow technical leaders and teams to achieve business objectives
  • Develop and motivate teams to solve complex problems and be a strong advocate for open-source technologies and solutions
  • Build and mentor a new team of Site Reliability engineers and managers
  • Drive the team towards building solutions towards the long-term goals while ensuring that high-priority technical debts are solved in an efficient way
  • Be a strong thought leader in Site Reliability engineering, Operational excellence, and DevOps Principles

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in leadership position
  • 8+ years of leading a SRE team
  • 6+ years coding experience
  • 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
  • 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical environment
  • 5+ years of experience with one of the public cloud - AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
  • 2+ years' experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience

Annual Salary

$110,000.00 - $261,500.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
