Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager in multi-disciplined projects, preparing construction drawings, details, specifications, calculations, and engineers' estimates of probable construction costs. They will also work on modeling and designing stormwater management systems for municipalities and other entities in Virginia, with a focus on sustainable green infrastructure such as subsurface storage and infiltration, bioretention basins, bioswales, green streets, and constructed wetlands.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5-12 years of progressive experience in land development, water resources, and/or utility design projects. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Virginia or the ability to obtain it within three months is also required. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software and Hydrologic, Hydraulic, and Water Quality Modeling programs is essential. Additionally, strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, effective time management, and a valid driver's license are highly valued.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with VDOT Standards and familiarity with Hydrologic, Hydraulic, and Water Quality Modeling programs are desirable attributes for this position.
