Job Summary: The Insurance Litigation Counsel will manage a varied caseload concerning first-party insurance claims, with a focus on advocating for clients in conflicts with their insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of insurance legislation and exhibit exceptional litigation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management:
  • Advocate for clients in first-party insurance claims, including residential, automotive, and commercial insurance disputes.
  • Oversee all facets of case preparation and management, from initial consultations to final resolutions.
  • Conduct detailed investigations, including the review of policy documents, damage assessments, and evidence collection.
  • Legal Representation:
  • Offer legal counsel and strategic guidance to clients regarding their insurance claims.
  • Draft, submit, and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents in both state and federal courts.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance firms and their legal representatives to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Client Interaction:
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients to provide updates on case progress and address any concerns.
  • Ensure clients are informed of their legal rights and options throughout the litigation process.
  • Research and Analysis:
  • Perform legal research to remain updated on changes in insurance law and relevant case precedents.
  • Analyze intricate insurance policies and legal matters to develop robust arguments and case strategies.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure adherence to all pertinent legal procedures, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain precise and organized case files, documentation, and billing records.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar and in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an attorney specializing in first-party insurance claims.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex insurance litigation and negotiating settlements.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both residential and commercial insurance claims.
  • Familiarity with local and federal court procedures in Florida.
