Job Summary

Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant (MA) provides day-to-day administrative, direct patient care and clinical support to the Ambulatory Services department through administrative and medical/nursing support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take adult and pediatric basic vital signs, including height and weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision, and draw blood accurately.
  • Document information in the electronic health record.
  • Routinely interact with administrative, medical staff, other departmental staff, and patients.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current/valid Maryland Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including verbal and written communications, interpersonal relations aptitude, and a professional approach to the execution of all assignments.
