Job Title: Food Service Associate
Are you enthusiastic, enjoy engaging with others, and thrive in a collaborative environment? This position offers a fantastic opportunity in the food service sector. Your role will focus on promptly and effectively preparing high-quality meals while adhering to food safety standards and ensuring appealing presentation. Your goal will be to guarantee that our patrons receive exceptional food items swiftly, effortlessly, and with a friendly demeanor. Furthermore, you will assist the Retail Store Manager in providing excellent food service and nurturing a positive workplace culture that reflects Tom Thumb's values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers with warmth to foster a friendly environment.
- Adhere to recipes and food preparation guidelines meticulously in the food service area, ensuring proper wrapping and labeling of food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in food presentation and workspaces, following food safety regulations and equipment upkeep.
- Operate the cash register efficiently, processing sales transactions swiftly and courteously.
- Ensure the food service area remains clean and visually appealing.
- Oversee and manage product availability on the sales floor to guarantee stock levels are maintained.
- Exemplify Company values and policies through your actions.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Store Manager.
- Ability to execute job responsibilities with or without accommodations.
Working Relationships: Collaborate with store team members, Store Manager, District Manager, corporate personnel, and vendors.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: N/APreferred Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience: N/A
Preferred Experience: 3-6 months in retail or customer service roles
Preferred Licenses/Certifications and Skills: ServSafe/Food Safety certification is beneficial but not mandatory.

- Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues

- Able to switch tasks quickly
- Team-oriented with a readiness to support others
- Basic computer proficiency is advantageous
Hours & Conditions: Part-time (up to 29 hours), Full-time hours
Travel: Up to 5%
Physical Requirements: Capability to lift items up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in cooler environments.
Other: Specific attire is required for food service positions.
