Patient Care Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic supportive care to patients and families under the direction of an RN/Care Manager.
  • Collect, document, and report vital signs, including blood pressure, heights, and weights.
  • Assist with procedures, hold and position patients, and prep materials and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure patient safety, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education and act as a preceptor for new staff members.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification preferred.
  • CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider) required.
  • One year of comparable experience in a hospital setting or completion of nursing fundamentals course.
