Position Overview:
The primary objective of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to deliver direct patient care, engage in patient and family education, and collaborate effectively within the interdisciplinary healthcare team to uphold nursing care standards under the supervision of a registered nurse, in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Ohio
- IV certification
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in fundamental nursing services, knowledge, and skills
- Understanding of evidence-based practices

Key Responsibilities:
1. Gather comprehensive data relevant to the patient's health or situation.
2. Identify and communicate changes in patients' conditions to the Registered Nurse for assessment.
3. Accurately document nursing activities in a timely manner.
4. Implement the established care plan, coordinate care delivery, and utilize strategies to promote health and safety under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.
5. Administer treatments and direct care as required.
6. Prepare and dispense medications as prescribed.
7. Administer peripheral IV medications as directed, within the scope of licensure, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
8. Observe and assess patients' responses to medications, promptly reporting any adverse reactions to the Registered Nurse.
9. Collect specimens as ordered.
10. Engage with and contribute to the professional growth of peers and colleagues.
11. Collaborate with patients, families, and others in nursing practice.
12. Integrate ethical considerations in all aspects of practice.

Working Conditions:
Work hours are determined by departmental needs. The LPN operates under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Lunch and break periods are assigned by the Charge RN.

Physical Requirements:
- Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients.
- Manual dexterity and coordination are essential.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
- Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal range.
- May involve exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, and other potentially hazardous conditions typical in a clinical environment.
