Actalent is seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team in Austin, TX.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to work in our laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for examining, fixing, and processing tissue samples, as well as embedding tissue samples and cutting them into thin slices using a microtome.
Key Responsibilities:- Examine and process tissue samples to prepare them for microscopic examination
- Embed tissue samples in paraffin wax and cut them into thin slices using a microtome
- Perform quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations
- Associate Degree in Histology or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 1+ year of experience as a Histotechnician
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
