We are seeking a skilled Dietary Worker to join our team at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. As a Dietary Worker, you will be responsible for performing routine general service tasks in the kitchen, cafeteria, dining room, dish room, and patient areas.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with catering events as needed.
- Foster an environment that promotes teamwork and maintains established department policies and procedures.
- Tend and load the dish machine, prepare and deliver late trays to patients, and collect soiled trays in a timely manner.
- Collect and dispose of trash and garbage as needed, wash pots according to pot washing instructions, and fill out logs.
- Sweep and mop floors, perform assigned special cleaning duties, and clean and sanitize work areas, storage areas, pantries, floors, refrigerators, and equipment.
- Deliver patients' nourishments to nurse pantries in a timely and accurate manner, assemble food trays for regular and modified diets, and visit patients for verbal menu selection.
- Set up stations before meal service, prepare cold foods such as salads, desserts, and sandwiches for patients, cafeteria, and catered functions according to production sheets and written or oral instructions.
- Pan prepared food per production sheets, label properly, and complete production sheets and temperature logs as needed.
- Ability to read, write, speak English, and follow oral and written directions.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous hospital and/or food service experience desirable.
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
