As a Senior Kubernetes Architect at ASCENDING, you will be instrumental in transforming our existing monolithic payment architecture into a cloud-native solution. Your role will involve collaborating with diverse teams, including software engineers, architects, and product managers, to establish and execute the new architecture for our payment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed about the latest technologies, frameworks, and trends in payment systems and cloud computing.
  • Design and develop a microservices-oriented architecture using domain-driven design principles. Leverage Kubernetes for effective container orchestration and management, ensuring the payment system's scalability, reliability, and high availability.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to maintain optimal performance and availability.
  • Create resilient and highly available components for the payment infrastructure.
  • Conduct evaluations of technologies and provide insights on new tools, technologies, and frameworks that can enhance our payment systems.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in transitioning large-scale monolithic applications to cloud-native architectures.
  • 5+ years of programming experience in languages such as Java or Python, along with familiarity with modern frameworks and libraries.
  • 3+ years of experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (Kubernetes expertise is essential).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in the payment domain.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including serverless architectures, containers, and orchestration (Azure proficiency is required).
  • 2+ years of experience with payment industry standards, protocols, and security best practices.
