We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Clear Creek ISD. As a School Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting, protecting, and improving the health and well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough student health appraisals to identify potential health concerns
- Evaluate student symptoms and provide nursing interventions in consultation with the supervising RN
- Administer medications and treatments according to school district policies and the LVN scope of practice
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty/staff regarding health needs and concerns
- Assist the RN in conducting annual vision, hearing, height, weight, and spinal screening of students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date cumulative health records
- Order supplies and equipment as needed
- Report clinic activity statistics periodically
- Provide resource and referral information for community agencies and services to students and faculty/staff
- Implement and enforce school district communicable disease policies
- Assess the severity of injuries and take appropriate action
- Perform first aid procedures effectively and efficiently within the LVN scope of practice
- Submit school district accident reports as needed
- Review, recommend, and obtain resource materials for students and faculty/staff
- Plan and implement health/wellness activities
- Teach health-related topics in the classroom as requested
- Valid LVN license from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Certified by the Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening
- Certified to perform Acanthosis Nigricans screening and CPR certification
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required
- School nursing experience preferred
The successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining emotional control under stress. The physical demands of the job include frequent standing, stooping, and bending, as well as moving medical equipment and other clinic materials.
