Job Summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an X-Ray Imaging Specialist to perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. The ideal candidate will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, work in a variety of locations, and troubleshoot basic maintenance issues.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, adhering to established protocols and QA guidelines, and interacting appropriately with patients and care providers. You will also be expected to rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage, assist radiologists or other medical professionals in invasive and fluoroscopic procedures, and ensure exam rooms are neat and clean prior to exams being performed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technique and giving appropriate procedural instructions to the patient

• Evaluate patient for clinical contrast history and possible contra-indications

• Adhere to established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines and regulatory requirements

• Interact appropriately with patients and all care providers by coordinating and prioritizing procedures during the workday to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity

• Rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage

• Assist Radiologist or other medical professional in invasive and fluoroscopic procedures using equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations

• Ensure exam rooms are neat, clean, and adequately stocked prior to exams being performed and act to ensure compliance with Infection Control standards

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required

• 1-3 years of experience in a hospital preferred

• Current registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required

• Current state licensure required

• Current BLS (American Heart Association) required

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
