Job SummaryThe Nursing Assistant serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you'll provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents. Your knowledge of age-appropriate care will enable you to deliver physical and psychological support to residents as per their care plans.
Responsibilities- Provide assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and vital sign monitoring.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as needed.
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if required.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
We're looking for a High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred. You must be at least 16 years old and have a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
