The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team in Loveland, CO. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents in a long-term care setting.

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This role requires a strong commitment to delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents, as outlined in their care plans.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Provide psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents.
  • Assist with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
  • Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Assist with wellness and recreational programs and encourage residents to participate.
Qualifications

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.

Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.

Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.

CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.

Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually.

Maintains all department-specific required certifications.

When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.

Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license. Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy per the leaders request.
