Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Design Specialist

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in HVAC design to join our dynamic team at BranchPattern. As an integral part of our engineering department, you will collaborate with architects, designers, and other engineers to deliver comprehensive design solutions for a variety of projects.

This role offers the opportunity for professional growth and development in a supportive and innovative work environment. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong background in HVAC for healthcare projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection, for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs while considering aesthetic, functional, and spatial requirements.
  • Conduct load calculations, equipment selection, duct and pipe sizing, and energy modeling to optimize system performance.
  • Perform simulations, and analyses to ensure the efficiency, sustainability, and compliance of mechanical systems with relevant codes and standards.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for mechanical systems, utilizing industry-standard software and tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer as they apply to HVAC systems.
  • Advanced user in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and HVAC design software (e.g., IESVE, Trane Trace) is preferred.
  • At least 4-8 years of Mechanical Engineering experience with HVAC Design.
