Job Opportunity: Deputy Director - Development Operations

Cleveland Play House, a renowned recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, seeks an experienced and self-motivated fundraising professional to join our team. As a key member of our Development department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing institutional grantor moves management, supporting the Board of Directors, and liaising with special events personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of grantors and prospects, conducting moves management to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Education on education-related grants and reports, ensuring seamless integration with department systems and processes.
  • Provide regular reports to the Director of Development, Managing Director, and Board of Trustees on year-to-date fundraising progress and cash flow projections.
  • Supervise the Grants Writer and oversee their primary duties, including drafting, submitting, and tracking grant proposals, reports, and supplemental materials.
  • Liaise with special events personnel to support key donor cultivation and solicitation events, ensuring donor engagement and sponsorship fulfillment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or three years of progressively responsible experience in development, with a successful track record in institutional fundraising, campaign management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented workplace.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, such as AudienceView.
  • Understanding of anti-racism and anti-oppression principles and practices, with the ability to interact effectively with people of different races, cultures, abilities, and socio-economic backgrounds.
