Forensic Engineer, PE

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Engineer, PE to join our team at Stephens Engineering Consultants, Inc.
About the RoleThis is a home-based position that requires a strong background in civil/structural engineering and a professional engineer (PE) license. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing forensic evaluations of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, including storm-related damage, moisture intrusion, impact damage, and foundation settlement.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough site investigations and prepare detailed written reports of findings.
- Communicate effectively with clients, the engineering team, and the home office on a daily basis.
- Provide expert testimony and depositions, if necessary.
- Meet all company expectations and deadlines, particularly during periods of heavy workload.
- Travel to and from site inspections, which may require extended periods of time and occasional overnight stays.
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- A valid professional engineer (PE) license in the state of employment or the ability to become licensed within two months.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word.
