We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Engineer, PE to join our team at Stephens Engineering Consultants, Inc.

About the Role

This is a home-based position that requires a strong background in civil/structural engineering and a professional engineer (PE) license. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing forensic evaluations of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, including storm-related damage, moisture intrusion, impact damage, and foundation settlement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough site investigations and prepare detailed written reports of findings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, the engineering team, and the home office on a daily basis.
  • Provide expert testimony and depositions, if necessary.
  • Meet all company expectations and deadlines, particularly during periods of heavy workload.
  • Travel to and from site inspections, which may require extended periods of time and occasional overnight stays.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A valid professional engineer (PE) license in the state of employment or the ability to become licensed within two months.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word.
