The Automotive Group at Constellium is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support various initiatives within our Michigan facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Process Engineering team in executing critical projects.
- Collaborate with Lean Managers to design process flows and optimize plant layouts.
- Contribute to the development of a database for plant consumable tooling.
The selected intern will play a vital role in supporting Plant Process Engineers with essential projects, ensuring timely completion. Key duties include:
- Utilizing AutoCAD to create facility layout designs for production and support areas.
- Conducting analyses and suggesting enhancements to improve overall process flow and space utilization based on Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Evaluating ergonomics and safety measures within manufacturing operations.
- Performing time studies on manufacturing equipment to identify bottlenecks and areas for enhancement.
- Auditing preventive maintenance processes to assess their effectiveness using production data.
- Conducting studies on consumable tooling and assisting in documenting findings in a tooling database.
- Reviewing production work instructions to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Supporting quality audits and documentation for the TS system.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework in an Engineering Science major or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-driven and organized, with minimal supervision required to complete tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for equipment layout and process flow design.
