The Backroom Associate plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to donors and customers, ensuring a seamless donation process, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to donors and customers, addressing their queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Direct donors and customers to the correct donation locations, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Receive, record, and sort donations, adhering to Goodwill's guidelines and principles.
- Work in various areas of the backroom, including soft goods production, hard goods production, donations, and more, as determined by management.
- Meet company production standards, ensuring timely and accurate processing of donations.
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading trucks, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
- Identify high-end and collectible items for online sales through Goodwill's E-Commerce platform.
- Clean and inspect items for damage or breakage, pricing them accurately and maintaining records.
- Stock, merchandise, and maintain the sales floor to meet company standards and guidelines.
- Place unsellable items into designated containers for salvage and separate them by category.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the successful operation of the department, team, and mission.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with donors and customers.
- Basic understanding of laws and regulations related to hazardous materials.
- Honesty and reliability, with a strong commitment to adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, with prolonged periods of walking and standing.
- Physical stamina to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, squat, and stoop.
