Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, and program outcomes through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, and profession.
  • Plan and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
  • Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their performance based on course objectives.
  • Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student knowledge, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
  • Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and the College.
  • May teach didactic course content under supervision of a course coordinator.
  • Keep course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Work with college administration, staff, and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
  • Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and departmental and campus policies.
  • Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.
  • Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.
  • Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
Qualifications
  • A Master's in Nursing (MSN) or doctoral degree (DNP/PhD) in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • An unencumbered California nursing license.
  • BLS Certification is required.
  • At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
