We are seeking a highly qualified Data Science Program Instructor to join our team at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) Extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing Data Science courses, as well as contributing to the growth and development of our program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver high-quality Data Science courses, including Data Science Fundamentals, Introduction to Data Science, and other related topics.
- Design and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards and best practices.
- Utilize the Canvas Learning Management System to support online and hybrid courses.
- Provide exceptional student support and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the UCLA Extension Program Director and other stakeholders to ensure program success.
- Evaluate student achievement of specific learning outcomes and assign grades.
- Post final student grades to the transcript system in a timely manner.
- Minimum MS degree in computer science, statistics, Information Technology, or applied science.
- Minimum five years of relevant work experience in Data Science or a related field.
- College-level teaching experience is preferred, as is experience in online teaching.
- Experience designing curriculum and measuring student performance is also preferred.
- Must be committed to the highest level of academic standards and integrity.
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas and information.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills.
- College-level teaching experience.
