COMPENSATION AND PERKS

  • The Fiberglass Technician role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22 to $30, contingent on experience and overtime availability.
  • This position guarantees consistent pay without the uncertainty of fluctuating hours.
  • Work hours are from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with weekends off. Optional overtime may be available on Fridays.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair damaged fiberglass body panels using pneumatic tools and established repair techniques.
  • Utilize air grinders to remove damaged fiberglass and smooth edges of painted surfaces.
  • Mask undamaged areas with appropriate materials to ensure precision during repairs.
  • Prepare and apply polyester resin mixtures according to specifications.
  • Layer matting over repair areas to achieve the required thickness.
  • Secure new panels in place as needed during the repair process.
  • Apply body filler to restore surface integrity and manually shape it to match original contours.
  • Utilize air sanders to achieve a smooth finish on repaired areas.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive or marine fiberglass repair.
  • Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) standards for fiberglass work.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand and air tools.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate around vehicles and components on an assembly line.
  • Strong memory and learning skills to follow detailed work instructions.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
