Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:
Regal Marine Industries Inc is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and integrating new products. Your expertise in mechanical design, structural composites, and systems engineering will be essential in developing innovative solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design mechanical linkages and moving assemblies in CAD software
* Develop layouts and build drawings for HVAC and other yacht systems in 2D and 3D CAD
* Design and analyze structural grids and components to meet requirements
* Evaluate composite materials and develop layup schedule for FRP parts
* Research and test new materials and components to evaluate feasibility for our products
* Follow new products through the prototype process to validate designs and adjust accordingly
* Constant focus on design for manufacturing
* Work with third-party vendors to bring in appropriate materials and components to meet our needs

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
* CAD software experience, including Rhino, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Catia, Pro-E
* 2 years of knowledge of the boating industry, including familiarity with major brands and features
* Understanding of design for manufacturing
* Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a professional setting
* Understanding of finite element and finite volume methods for use in structural and fluids analysis softwares
* Strong project management skills, including a demonstrated track record of successful projects and implementation
* Proficient in Google G-Suite or Microsoft Office software suite
* Conversational English

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ability to drive and trailer boats
* Strong technical knowledge of marine systems and materials
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Strong relationship builder and a personal desire to win
* Highly motivated self-starter and deadline driven
* Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally
* Team player mentality, but able to work independently as required
* Strong interpersonal, listening, questioning, and communication skills (written and oral)
* Energetic, proactive and focused
* Professional memberships in industry organizations such as ABYC & NMMA

Work Environment:

* Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times.

Physical Demands:

* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
* The employee is frequently required to climb into and out of the boats using stairs.
* The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10-hour days with most of the time being on your feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
* Must be able to, with or without correct close vision, ability to adjust focus, and be able to distinguish between different colors.
