Job Summary
As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a crucial role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries. Your primary responsibility will be to perform radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to produce high-quality images of the body.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body.
- Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and the portion of the body involved.
- Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides.
- Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
- Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
- Process images and review them for proper identification and quality control.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Orient new staff and train students.

- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California)
- Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
- Basic Life Support
