Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will produce high-quality ultrasonic recordings of internal organs to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of various conditions. This role requires a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
Key responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients for examination, selecting equipment and transducers according to specifications, and operating ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images and data.
You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of test results and orienting new hires. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of medical imaging professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation

- Orient new hires
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience: Must have equivalent of three (3) years of continuous ultrasound experience within the last six (6) years with no more than one (1) year break in experience within the last four (4) years.
Education: High School Diploma/GED required.
License, Certification, Registration: The candidate must have 3 from the following list: Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer Pediatric Sonography Certification, Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer Fetal Echocardiography Certification, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echocardiogram Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Breast, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn, Basic Life Support.
Additional Requirements:
NT certification is required to perform genetic screening for Prenatal Diagnostic Centers. Applicants may be hired without certification, but will be required to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
