Healthcare Administrative Specialist

If you are interested in becoming part of our community, we are currently in search of a full-time Healthcare Administrative Specialist. Candidates should possess prior experience in an administrative role within a healthcare setting, and familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors, assess their requirements, and guide them accordingly.
  • Handle incoming calls as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate entry of all patient demographic data into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Verify the need for referrals.
  • Facilitate the completion and signing of necessary forms, and organize patient files.
  • Coordinate patient appointments for consultations, procedures, and diagnostic tests as requested.
  • Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service.
  • Confirm all patient appointments and procedures for the following business day.
  • Maintain and update patient records diligently.
  • Oversee the front desk and reception area to ensure a welcoming environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an administrative capacity within a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Certification - or the ability to obtain one.
