We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team in West Chester, OH. As a Tax Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all sales and use tax regulations for our multiple jurisdiction operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • File sales and use tax returns in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Update our general ledger system to reflect sales tax rate changes, ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Collaborate with the accounts receivable department to resolve sales tax issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and financial accuracy.
  • Determine taxable and nontaxable items for use tax purposes, applying in-depth knowledge of tax regulations.
  • Conduct research on sales tax issues as necessary, providing expert insights to inform business decisions.
  • Issue and request exemption certificates, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Oversee annual filings with Secretary of State offices, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Manage state and local business licenses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks to support the tax function, ensuring seamless operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales and use tax compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to analyze and present data insights.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma and/or 2 years of experience in tax compliance.
  • The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.

Mathematical Skills

  • Basic math skills, with the ability to apply mathematical concepts to tax calculations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to analyze complex data, with the ability to draw informed conclusions.
