Position: Systems Architect (SA)

Role Summary:

BuddoBot Inc is in search of a Systems Architect to deliver expertise to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) – focusing on Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) divisions.

The EA and IV&V Support services at HUD are tasked with developing a cohesive, integrated enterprise architecture program along with management processes aimed at enhancing EA Support Services. This initiative will align HUD's information technology (IT) resources with its strategic business goals through a structured approach of Architect, Invest, and Implement.

The role of the Systems Architect involves collaborating with Solution and Enterprise Architects to thoroughly understand and document HUD's enterprise applications and systems. The SA will contribute to the development of modernization strategies and the successful execution of both short- and long-term strategic objectives, while also providing essential guidance and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide architectural guidance and support to IT subject matter experts, including those in cybersecurity, telecommunications, business analysis, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all strategic IT-related artifacts, including business/process flows, use cases, and workflow diagrams.
  • Offer recommendations for modernization efforts as the organization transitions to cloud environments.
  • Lead client engagements, generating agendas and minutes, and tracking action items.
  • Create project schedules and produce clear, concise graphics and data/process flows, ensuring the delivery of client-ready documentation.
  • Work under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Manager and Program Manager.
  • Utilize established guidelines to perform job functions effectively.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various concepts, practices, and procedures related to information technology environments.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Business Architecture, Data Architecture, Application Architecture, Network Architecture, Security Architecture, or a related field, along with two years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in the same disciplines with one year of relevant experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Candidates with a Master's degree in an accredited institution may substitute experience requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Virtual Machines (VMs) and cloud computing technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading EA tools for EA Repository management.

Work Environment:

The position is primarily office-based, requiring minimal movement. The work environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature. Occasional travel may be required, and flexibility for off-hours work may be necessary to support system releases and outages.
