Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Food and Beverage Service: Prepare tables, ensure silverware is clean and ready, and stock items needed for the shift. Perform all other preparation tasks to ensure a smooth dining experience.
  • Customer Interaction: Stay updated on current food and drink menu, take reservations when necessary, direct customers to their tables, and present menus. Suggest food and beverage items, inform guests about food preparation details, and communicate any allergy or other specifications to the chef team.
  • Dining Room Management: Maintain a proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses, offering desserts and coffee, and removing courses.
  • Tray Service: Always use a tray in the dining room for glassware or any item smaller than your hands.
  • Wine Service: Properly open and pour wine tableside.
  • Payment and Cash Handling: Obtain payments and perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by a supervisor.
  • Team Support: Fill in for absent staff as needed and assist with special events.
  • Guest Experience: Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting and adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Events and Services: Understand and communicate events and services available at the Garden.
Requirements
  • Experience: One year of server experience required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral communication skills required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Positive interpersonal skills required.
  • Allergy and Dietary Needs: Basic understanding of allergy and dietary needs and descriptions required.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent Walking: Frequent walking with some standing at times.
  • Lifting: Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor and Outdoor Setting: May be indoor or outdoor setting depending on outlet.
  • Varying Schedule: Varying schedule to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
