Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive health services and wellness education to students, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Oversee the Wellness Services Department, including the management of subcontracted health services such as mental health, dental, and medical care.
- Assist in the supervision of staff, ensuring that the department meets the health needs of the student body.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local healthcare facilities and community resources.
- Compile and submit necessary reports in accordance with corporate policies.
- Manage the wellness budget effectively, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Act as a liaison with local agencies to coordinate health services and address health-related issues.
- Evaluate student health concerns and make appropriate referrals.
- Maintain and update healthcare guidelines to ensure high-quality wellness services.
- Oversee chronic condition management programs and ensure compliance with medication administration guidelines.
- Ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with the Safety and Security Department to report significant incidents.
- Participate actively in the Healthy Eating, Active Lifestyles (HEALs) Committee, potentially serving as chairperson.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff, fostering a supportive work environment.
- Engage in continuous improvement of programs and services to meet student needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing with an active, unrestricted nursing license.
- At least three years of healthcare experience, including one year in a supervisory role.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
