The Uintah School District is seeking a skilled Speech Language Technician to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a resource to school staff members in developing a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
• Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments.
• Provide thorough assessments and diagnoses of speech, voice, and language impairments.
• Screen students to identify speech handicaps at regular intervals and at specified levels.
• Assist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community.
• Develop and implement individualized programs of therapy to meet students' needs and correct existing speech or language handicaps.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy suggestions for students' daily activities.
• Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.
Requirements:
• High School diploma/GED
• Bachelor's Degree in Communication
Working Conditions:
This is a contract position with benefits, working 184 days per year, and 40 hours per week.
