Speech Language Therapist

The Speech Language Technician will work with both the general education and special education population with language handicaps, articulation deficits, dysfluencies, and voice disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communication and be able to provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement;
Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments;
Provide individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language handicaps;
Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggesting activities for the student's daily routine;
Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate;
Requirements:
High School diploma/GED;
Bachelor's Degree in Communication;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work with diverse populations and age groups;
Strong organizational and time management skills;
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position, working up to 29.5 hours per week. The Speech Language Technician will be working in a school setting, interacting with students, teachers, and parents. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong commitment to providing high-quality services to students with speech and language impairments.
