Job Summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in Bronx, New York.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing, ensuring proper functioning and adjusting as necessary.
  • Document routine observations, changes in procedure, and significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
  • Monitor study-tracing quality, troubleshoot equipment, and follow procedural protocols to ensure appropriate data collection.
  • Implement interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic interventions.
  • Perform different and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions as indicated.
  • Clean and sterilize all equipment.
  • Complete paperwork for documentation and billing.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Score sleep study records according to standard scoring rules.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required, Associate's Degree preferred.
  • NY State License or work permit as polysomnographer.
  • Minimum 6 months work experience preferred.
  • Maintain CPR/BCLS certification.
  • Board Certification of Polysomnographer (RPSGT), or obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Knowledge of home sleep study devices and polysomnography machine in conjunction with EEG, EOG, EKG, motion sensors, respiration monitors, and other physiological activities.
