Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of California, Merced. The successful candidate will have a strong background in health equity research and a demonstrated ability to conduct independent and collaborative scientific research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on health equity and rural health, with a focus on Latino/a/x, immigrant, and rural communities in the San Joaquin Valley region.
  • Collaborate with the PIs on various project activities, including literature search and review, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Develop and implement research protocols, including qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Work closely with community partners to design and implement research studies.
  • Provide qualitative research skill trainings to community partners and/or undergraduate and graduate research assistants.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Community Health Sciences, Health/Public Policy, or other related social, behavioral, or population science field.
  • Strong methodological and data analysis skills (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods).
  • Highly self-motivated individuals who have demonstrated the ability to conduct independent and collaborative scientific research.
  • Willingness to mentor and assist undergraduate research assistants.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated evidence of strong contributions to scholarship, including peer-reviewed publications.
  • Experience conducting or collaborating on health equity and rural health research studies, particularly investigations with a community-engaged component.
