Position Overview:

The Measurement Technician plays a critical role in the installation, upkeep, and precision of natural gas measurement and control systems. This encompasses a variety of equipment including flow computers, chromatographs, and SCADA systems. The technician is responsible for conducting regular audits of custody transfer and control data, and must be prepared to respond to after-hours emergencies related to equipment or operational issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative.
  • Install, maintain, and operate measurement devices.
  • Identify measurement discrepancies and adjust volumes accordingly, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Monitor measurement systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate objectives.
  • Conduct audits of custody transfer and control data as required.
  • Interpret electrical and electronic schematics related to measurement systems.
  • Maintain and oversee the upkeep of all measurement facilities and equipment.
  • Supervise third-party construction and maintenance activities.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reports.
  • Adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements in all work.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic, electronic, and electrical systems.
  • Engage in federal inspections as necessary.
  • Support the company's safety initiatives and address safety concerns proactively.
  • Work effectively in varying weather conditions and with minimal supervision.
  • Be available for emergency response outside of regular hours.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Utilize computer software proficiently, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and high performance standards.
  • Be flexible with work hours as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's degree in a technical field or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Basic mathematical skills and knowledge of electronic testing instruments.
  • Familiarity with gas chromatography and industry measurement standards.
  • Safe work practices and understanding of DOT regulations.
  • Experience with gas measurement and control equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Certifications:

  • Must obtain and maintain relevant certifications as required.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Physical Demands:

The role may require physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
