Position Overview:

The Measurement Technician plays a critical role in the installation, upkeep, and precision of natural gas measurement and control systems. This includes a variety of equipment such as flow computers, chromatographs, and SCADA systems. The technician is responsible for conducting regular audits of custody transfer and control data and must be prepared to respond to after-hours emergencies related to equipment and operational issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative in all tasks.
  • Install, maintain, and operate measurement instruments effectively.
  • Identify measurement discrepancies and adjust volumes accordingly, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Oversee the measurement systems in assigned areas, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct audits of custody transfer and control data as necessary.
  • Interpret electrical and electronic schematics related to measurement systems.
  • Maintain and service all relevant facilities and equipment.
  • Supervise third-party construction and maintenance activities.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reports accurately.
  • Adhere to company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with pneumatic, electronic, and electrical systems.
  • Engage in federal inspections and support safety initiatives.
  • Maintain a focus on safety and environmental compliance.
  • Work effectively in various weather conditions and with minimal supervision.
  • Be available for emergency response outside of regular hours.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Utilize computer software proficiently, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communicate professionally with diverse individuals.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and high performance levels.
  • Adapt to non-traditional work hours as required.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's degree in a technical field or related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic testing instruments and gas chromatography.
  • Understanding of measurement standards and regulations.
  • Proven track record of safe work practices.
  • Experience with gas measurement and control equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Certifications:

  • Maintain necessary certifications relevant to job functions.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various environmental conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
