Switchboard Operator

The Oroville Hospital is seeking a skilled PBX Operator to join our team. As a key member of our switchboard team, you will be responsible for answering incoming calls, routing them to the appropriate department, and providing exceptional customer service.

• Answer and direct incoming calls to the correct department or individual.
• Place outgoing calls for employees who require operator assistance.
• Record calls and maintain accurate records.
• Inform the telephone company of equipment malfunctions.
• Answer code phones and pages, and provide information as needed.
• Manage petty cash transactions and balance the cash drawer.
• Provide general assistance to visitors, patients, and staff.
• Stay aware of disaster plans and procedures, and be prepared to respond in the event of an emergency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Manual dexterity to manipulate keys on the switchboard.
• Pleasant telephone voice and manner.
