Role Overview
Under the supervision of experienced professionals, the CT Technologist 1 performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans in accordance with prescribed protocols. This role requires the ability to prepare patients physically and mentally, utilize equipment safely, and maintain a professional demeanor. The position adheres to National Patient Safety Goals, ensuring the use of two patient identifiers for each exam. Additionally, the CT Technologist 1 maintains radiation safety regulations and immunology protocols, working collaboratively with clinical students as required. The role involves staying up-to-date with knowledge and experience of routine diagnostic CT exams, adhering to HIPAA and corporate compliance guidelines. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved program in Radiologic Technology is mandatory. One year of experience in Computer Tomography (CT) is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of CT Radiology procedures, CT Scanners, radiation safety, universal precautions, immunology protocols, and general office software and equipment. They will also demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of CT Scanners and radiology procedures to produce contrast and non-contrast studies of all body locations. Furthermore, the CT Technologist 1 must ensure all scans adhere to radiation safety, universal protections, and immunology. The role requires the ability to complete paperwork correctly and efficiently, maintain rooms orderly and clean, and communicate effectively with others. The candidate should be able to read, write legibly, speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality, and use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position. They should also be able to comprehend and follow-through with instructions, relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others, and be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies. Additionally, the CT Technologist 1 should be able to lead, supervise, teach, and accept direction, think critically and use good judgment, problem solve and collaborate with licensed care providers as necessary. The ideal candidate will also be able to work in a challenging clinical environment, demonstrate self-motivation, work independently with minimal supervision, communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone, think critically, perform basic math and statistical functions, compose written material, multitask and manage multiple assignments effectively, organize and prioritize workload, problem solve, recall information with accuracy, and pay close attention to detail. The position requires the ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace, and see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications
The CT Technologist 1 must be certified as a Radiologic Technologist (CRT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), hold Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, and IV Certification. Additionally, the candidate must be eligible for the Computed Tomography (CT) ARRT Registry within 6 months of hire date and obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire date.
