Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the CT Technologist 2 is responsible for conducting three-dimensional (3-D) post-processing, triaging patients, exams, and performing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) for adult patients.

The position can perform more technical exams and provide support and guidance to the lower-level classification(s). The CT Technologist 2 works with clinical students as needed, follows HIPAA and corporate compliance guidelines, and is capable of producing the work of the lower-level classification.

The position performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

Completion of an accredited American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Educational Program is required. Two (2) years of experience in Computed Tomography (CT) is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

The CT Technologist 2 possesses knowledge of CT Radiology procedures, CT Scanners, post-processing, TAVR CTA for adult patients, radiation safety and universal precautions, and general office software and equipment.

The position requires skill to apply knowledge of different CT Scanner models and radiology procedures to produce advanced CT scans of Cardiac areas.

The CT Technologist 2 must be able to produce CTA and CT scans related to stroke and trauma; answer advanced questions about the use and operation of equipment.

The position requires skill to produce Cardiac, Coronary, and TAVR CTA for adult patients. The CT Technologist 2 must be able to produce 3-D post-processing of areas such as the aorta, carotids, and head.

The position ensures all procedures adhere to radiation safety and universal protections.

The CT Technologist 2 is able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.

The position is able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and courteously with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.

The CT Technologist 2 works independently with minimal supervision; performs basic math functions; manages multiple assignments effectively; works well under pressure; problem solves; organizes and prioritizes workload; recalls information with accuracy; pays close attention to detail.

The position distinguishes colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hears sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identifies and distinguishes various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; sees adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discerns temperature variances through touch.

Licensures and Certifications:

The CT Technologist 2 is required to be certified as a Radiologic Technologist (CRT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), Computed Tomography (CT) ARRT Advanced License, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and IV certification.
