Turbomachinery Structural Analyst III

We are seeking an experienced Turbomachinery Structural Analyst to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Transportation business unit, you will play a critical role in the development of our Blue Moon lander product lines.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis using FEA and classical methods on turbomachinery components such as impellers, housings, bearings, and shafts.
- Conduct fatigue and fracture calculations and write detailed structural analysis reports.
- Collaborate with our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area.
- 5+ years of experience in turbomachinery structural analysis.
- Experience performing FEA utilizing non-linear modeling techniques to include non-linear material and contact methods in ANSYS.
- Experience performing modal analysis and frequency prediction.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly collaborate with external parties including government and commercial entities.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area.
- Experience with cryogenic applications.
- Experience in all phases of turbomachinery life cycle in flight vehicle applications.
- Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC) related to turbomachinery components.
