Job Summary

The Environmental Facilitator plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the location by executing the operational activities of the Environmental department. This includes maintaining environmental compliance and ensuring the effective management of waste, air, water, and other environmental responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Support
    • Review material returns and assist in waste determinations as necessary.
    • Maintain quarantine and waste areas in accordance with environmental regulations and company policy.
    • Perform environmental audits as required by Milliken Policy and regulations.
  • Waste Management
    • Manage waste shipments (hazardous, non-hazardous, universal) as directed by the Environmental Manager.
    • Respond to environmental concerns and involve the responsible manager as necessary.
  • Procedure Issuance and Reporting
    • Assist with writing and training on new procedures related to environmental issues.
    • Support Environmental personnel with data gathering and reporting on environmental matters.
  • SAP Support
    • Utilize SAP to track period/monthly production and assist with environmental reporting.
  • Safety
    • Assist the Safety Pillar owner and serve on the Steering Committee as needed.
    • Track and/or complete action items or help conduct investigations for SPIs or Safety Concerns.
  • Environmental
    • Understand all aspects of government regulations as they apply to assigned processes.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including Title V and SARA.
    • Eliminate waste where possible and contribute to continuous improvement of the plant's environmental performance.
  • Other
    • Complete assigned audits.
    • Generate cost improvement projects within assigned process areas and report progress periodically.
    • Handle all other duties assigned by the Environmental Manager.
Requirements
  • 4-year degree in an Environmental-related field preferred.
  • Background in Environmental Regulations (RCRA, DOT, SWPPP, SPCC, WWT, SARA, etc.) preferred or willingness to attend classes and maintain certification.
  • Experience in dealing with RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to drive a forklift.
  • Computer proficiency, including SAP and Microsoft products or willingness to be trained.
  • Experience as a 40-Hour HAZWOPER preferred or willingness to become certified.
