Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payment Processor to join our team at Navient. As a Payment Processor, you will be responsible for generating, processing, and recording payments accurately, timely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process consumer payments, including generating and processing payments, and recording payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of payments and transactions.
  • Identify and resolve payment discrepancies and exceptions.
  • Collaborate with management to implement process improvements and optimize payment processing.
Requirements
  • 6-12 months experience in collections or a clerical/administrative environment or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good calculator and math skills.
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent.
  • Must be of driving age and obtain and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Require a driving record check and prefer to be accident and ticket free for at least a year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer Service skills.
  • Previous data entry experience.
  • Computer Skills with the ability to work with Microsoft Excel effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Have positive can-do attitude.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Flexibility to reorganize day as needed to meet client deadlines.
  • Team oriented in accomplishing department goals.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess good communication skills, including verbal and written.
