Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in conducting assessments to identify physical and developmental challenges in students.
  • Support the creation of individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, client goals, and OT guidance.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions as directed by licensed OTs, providing occupational therapy services tailored to student needs.
  • Apply various tools and techniques to enhance motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide support and education on occupational therapy matters.
  • Assist in monitoring student progress, documenting treatment outcomes, and reporting findings to licensed OTs.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in occupational therapy through ongoing professional development activities.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to the overall success of the school.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or a related field.
  • Valid and active state certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
  • Preferred previous experience working as a COTA or in a related role.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic techniques used in occupational therapy.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of licensed OTs and collaborate effectively within a team.
