Join Our Team as a Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant

As a Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in the comfort of their own homes. Your primary responsibility will be to assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans, ensuring patients receive the best possible care.

  • Provide therapy services as directed by occupational therapists, focusing on restoring, reinforcing, and enhancing task performances.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of vocational/education programs, promoting independence and self-sufficiency in patients.
  • Design and adapt equipment to improve function and independence, working closely with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide therapeutic treatment and instruction to patients, promoting strength, coordination, range-of-motion, and function.
  • Document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare clinical notes, ensuring seamless communication with the care team.
  • Instruct patients and family members on home programs, adaptive equipment, and care techniques, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
  • Participate in care coordination and discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition for patients and their families.
  • Design community reintegration activities, promoting physical reconditioning and psychological adjustment, and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted OTA licensure
  • Minimum of six months occupational therapist assistant experience preferred
  • Home Health experience a plus
  • Current CPR certification
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
