Purpose:

The Press Operator Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the setup and operation of printing presses while ensuring a safe, clean, and organized workspace to maximize production efficiency and quality. This position collaborates closely with a Press Operator to meet customer quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the setup and operation of the printing press.
  2. Learn to accurately assess key printing properties.
  3. Understand Quality Windows and perform precise data entry.
  4. Ensure all finished products comply with customer specifications.
  5. Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills.
  6. Provide assistance to maintenance as needed.
  7. Read and interpret Job Discrete Routing Sheets and identify raw materials by part numbers.
  8. Comprehend the operations and functions of press control panels.
  9. Familiarize with MSDS sheets.
  10. Understand SOC sheets and complete them accurately.
  11. Maintain proper housekeeping standards in the press area and surrounding locations.
  12. Implement and adhere to proper solvent and ink handling procedures.
  13. Follow established hazardous waste handling protocols.
  14. Communicate effectively and interact professionally with colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to distinguish colors (not color blind).
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime as required.
  • Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.
