Your Role in Making a Difference:


As a Chief Medical Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with company and institutional security protocols while meticulously documenting medical services for the Regional or Corporate Medical Director, facilitating continuous oversight of service delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.

Your dedication to transparency includes promptly informing the Regional or Corporate Medical Director and Health Services Administrator of any scheduling changes, ensuring uninterrupted medical service coverage even during extended absences, showcasing your commitment to maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery.


Key Responsibilities:


The Chief Medical Officer is essential in delivering comprehensive medical care within a correctional environment, which includes evaluating referred patients, conducting daily infirmary rounds, and ensuring detailed, problem-focused documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or on approved forms.


They exhibit clinical proficiency by responding to emergencies, supervising and training healthcare staff, and consulting with medical specialists to provide high-quality care while adhering to established policies and standards.


The Chief Medical Officer collaborates with the Health Services Administrator to enhance patient outcomes through ongoing quality improvement initiatives, including Chronic Care Clinics, monitoring pharmacy services, and liaising with community healthcare providers.


They actively participate in reviewing and endorsing treatment protocols, clinical policies, and emergency plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.


The Chief Medical Officer's commitment to excellence includes providing clinical oversight, engaging in the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, and making recommendations to improve patient care and safety.


Qualifications & Requirements:
Education

Medical school graduate.

Experience

Preferred experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health.

Licenses/Certifications

Must possess and maintain current licensure in the state of employment.

Must maintain a current DEA number.

Must be able to obtain and sustain CPR certification.

Must maintain privileges and fulfill CME requirements for continued medical practice in the state.
