About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Records and Information Management Specialist to join our team at the State of Vermont. As a key member of our Archives and Records Administration department, you will play a critical role in coordinating the Vermont Local Records Program and providing expert guidance and support to local government offices on records management best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in identifying, classifying, and analyzing recordkeeping requirements to develop information policies and standards, including record schedules, and update existing ones.
  • Provide consultation and outreach services to local government offices on records management and information governance.
  • Collaborate with other VSARA Records and Information Management Specialists on formulating records retention policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and presentations on records management and information governance to local government officials and staff.
  • Conduct onsite visits to local government offices to assist with managing paper and digital records.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or higher in archives, library, or information science or in the broader information management field.
  • Two (2) years or more of professional RIM work at the RIM Specialist I level or equivalent.
  • Professional designation of (or eligibility for) Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Certified Records Analyst (CRA) by the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM).
