Clinical Responsibilities:
• Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms, preparing them for exams or treatments
• Take vital signs and provide assistance to physicians as needed
• Perform Spirometry and other breathing tests as ordered
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including patient education and documentation
• Call in prescriptions as ordered by physicians or nurse practitioners
• Administer allergy injections to shot patients as scheduled by physicians
• Monitor patients' medical status for possible adverse reactions following allergy injections
• Maintain emergency equipment, including oxygen, code kits, and suction
• Answer patient-related phone calls and respond according to clinical protocol
Administrative Responsibilities:
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines
• Maintain detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software related to job functions
• Attend CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, and OIG training programs as required
• Perform all other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager
• Complete all assigned AP training within designated timeframes
Qualifications:
• High school degree required
• CMA certificate desirable
• At least one year of experience in clinical assisting
• Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
• Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
• Good communication skills and neat, professional appearance
